Re: Thermomech analysis: split inp writing = true stopps ccx

I can confirm this in 0.20 and 0.21, although I get a different error message: FEM: No frd result file found at ... Version details: OS: Windows 10 Version 2009 Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.20.29177 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-20 Hash: 68e337670e227889217652ddac59...

Re: "Constraint Body Heat Source" implemented yet?

Is this feature still not working? First of all, I definitely recommend using the newest available version of FreeCAD (0.21 dev currently). The FEM module receives lots of bug fixes pretty much all the time. In 0.21 you will notice that there's no References property for this constraint. Unfortunat...

Re: Question about beam calculation with calculix

Is it possible in a beam analysis, to obtain internal forces? (Normal force, Shear force, Bending Moments) These are what we use for construction structural analysis. Yes, but you have to add the SECTION FORCES parameter to the *EL FILE keyword in the .inp file. Can we have a beam section other tha...

Re: Need suggestions for Geometry cleanup options in FreeCAD software

Import the STEP file, Part Wb > Create form from a mesh, then Part Wb > make a solid you will have a solid full of facets but that you can work as a solid Fc object That’s the workflow necessary for STL, not STEP files. The latter are already solid and don’t have more facets than needed to represen...

Re: Phase transition modelling

So I should provide some sort of csv type file including temperature ans specific heat values which would replace the specific heat value inside the .inp file, is that right? It's not necessary. Just define it like this: *Specific heat value1, temperature1 value2, temperature2 value3, temperature3 ...

No, FEM MaterialMechanicalNonlinear is just for plasticity and there's no equivalent for thermal properties.

Re: Erase Selected Elements in a Finite Element Mesh

What data would you require in the element set? Element sets are objects analogous to node sets but for elements. They are basically grouped element selections used in definitions of various features in CalculiX. Just like node sets, they can be useful when defining features that are not yet suppor...

rhub wrote: Thu Aug 11, 2022 9:39 am Does anyone know about such feature in FreeCAD?
FreeCAD doesn't support temperature-dependent material properties so you will have to edit the input file manually.

For defeaturing check this tool: Part Defeaturing and this add-on workbench: Defeaturing Workbench . When it comes to splitting, boolean tools should help you. They are listed here: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Part_Module#Boolean Also, search previous threads, there were many questions about various...
