Re: L3 cache size (CPU)?
Generally speaking more L3 cache is better for all applications than less L3 cache, assuming that everything else is the same. Often, however, adding more L3 cache slows down the maximum clock rate or processing speed of the CPU(s), so then things get more complicated. Does your particular applicati...

Re: Change content of a previous sketch
For future reference FCStd files are already in zip format, so they don't need to be zipped. You can change the file name to "something.zip" and use many of the usual "zip tools" to look at the contents of the file if you wish.

Re: The design group
Simply put, if users have to rely on unstable weekly builds do get s**t done, something is terribly wrong. My comment was in the context of using the weekly builds to get feedback from the users about new functionality in an "opt-in" way. You can't get feedback about the new change if no ...

Re: The design group
The problem with having new changes show up in the weekly releases is now I have lost access to the old way of doing things without having spent time trying to figure out how to undo the changes. That puts the burden on the users rather than on the creators of the change to convince users that their...

Re: The design group
Using opt-in for changes allows for a "slower" or "longer" change process: Introduce the proposed change as a "minor change" with an opt-in choice. This lets people who are interested try it without forcing uninterested people to do anything. It does require publicity e...

Re: The design group
In my opinion change management is change management as long as you are dealing with human beings, but there is plenty of room for different opinions. The main difference between opt-out and opt-in for me is that opt-in allows for "minor changes" while opt-out causes a "major change&q...

Re: The design group
I learned about change management as applied to users of software in an in-person class many years ago. The content was in a loose-leaf notebook at the time, so no easy link. I have done a search for "change management", "adoption and change management", and several other terms a...
