Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

There seem to be contradictions (or am I wrong?): It might appear that way, but, because FreeCAD is built upon the OpenCASCADE geometric kennel, and it is predominantly single threaded, this is why I made the statement. This wasn't meant to imply that more cores are bad or worthless they are just l...

Re: gNucleus : Generate FreeCAD models by GenAI

I don't think ai generated CAD models is something I would want to use, this is an interesting use of the language model technology.

Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

1. Single Core performance is more important than large core count. 2. RAM is also important I would suggest 32GB. 3. FreeCAD is not very GPU intensive. low/Mid-grade enthusiast hardware would be fine. I run a 6900XT without issue (overkill for FreeCAD) 4. FreeCAD successfully will run on a Raspberr...

Asking the content creators themselves to cross-post their content on altnernative platforms is a viable option.

Re: Merge lattice WB as a tool in PD

It would definitely be nice to see improved instancing/patterns. One thing that could be useful to learn from lattice is how the approach used is quite performant.

Re: Merging Fasteners and Gears in Part wb?

I'm inclined to agree with drmacro's comments. What is to be gained by: 1. Merging these into main? 2. Reducing them to toolbuttons? Also how do we then access the many things they provide currently? I don't think a task panel necessarily provides an adequate interface, or perhaps it just needs extr...

Re: Merge lattice WB as a tool in PD

I don't think merging lattice as a part of core is a great idea anyway. While powerful and versatile, it isn't 'easy' to use. It also touches multiple workbenches. Not *just* Part Design.

Re: Being seriously frustrated with FreeCAD

I would suspect a versatile history tree which allows reordering and re-referencing of things would be dependent on stable element references, which in the current state FreeCAD cannot manage. As the TNP mitigation code nears a usable state in the coming weeks, such functionality as you appear to be...
