When I added it to the composite image for the poll it was crashing Inkscape. I switched to the mono colored one and the crashes stopped.

If possible, I would suggest reusing colors from the sketcher workbench for information overlaid over the 3dview/background. This would ensure consistent coloring and make theme development simpler as it is already a rather complex task.

I'd be willing to conduct a full review, draft a proposal, pass it through the DWG and bring it to the forums for comment if there is interest.

Considering how important and integral sketcher is to FreeCAD, I think this is a good idea.
