Re: Sketcher_restoreInternal tool discussion

That could make sense too but I would not want that unless we add some more smartness to the constraint tools to not loose convenience. Without the line dimmensioning or making the ellipse vertically/horizontally aligned will be a PITA because you have to select two points instead of just a line I ...

Re: Sketcher_restoreInternal tool discussion

Simplest example is ellipses I guess, you use the internal geometry to be able to constrain it But the lines could be hidden and the endpoints exposed without having layers for the lines or extra controls needed by the user. I'm not sure how all of the other major players handle this. Since I'm lin...

Re: Sketcher_restoreInternal tool discussion

It would be a similar situation as we have now. It still needs the function to restore the internal geometry. Instead of removing it may need a function to move it to a separate layer so that it doesn't clutter the view. Fair, but I'd still like to know what the value of ever exposing the internal ...

Re: Sketcher_restoreInternal tool discussion

What is the purpose behind ever exposing the internal geometry to the user at all? Or why not just use construction lines and leave the rest up to the users themselves?

Re: gNucleus : Generate FreeCAD models by GenAI

This is starting to just sound like promotional social advertising (aka marketing with no substance) and not actual community outreach to assess a product/service purportedly built around FreeCAD?

Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

There seem to be contradictions (or am I wrong?): It might appear that way, but, because FreeCAD is built upon the OpenCASCADE geometric kennel, and it is predominantly single threaded, this is why I made the statement. This wasn't meant to imply that more cores are bad or worthless they are just l...

Re: gNucleus : Generate FreeCAD models by GenAI

I don't think ai generated CAD models is something I would want to use, this is an interesting use of the language model technology.

Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

1. Single Core performance is more important than large core count. 2. RAM is also important I would suggest 32GB. 3. FreeCAD is not very GPU intensive. low/Mid-grade enthusiast hardware would be fine. I run a 6900XT without issue (overkill for FreeCAD) 4. FreeCAD successfully will run on a Raspberr...
