You can say that again drmacro :mrgreen: I know nothing about preference packs :cry: Having said so, I still think chrisb that before I use them I need to know what and how something can be changed? My problem is that (for example) - something has changed (and not for the better in my humble opinion...

How about creating an item in the preference packs list so they can easily be saved and restored. In principle good idea (assuming that I understand you correctly - care to elaborate, please?) What I was looking for is reference list, so that when I come across something I haven't encountered befor...

There seem to be increasing proliferation of automagic things in FreeCAD that are supposed to make thing easier for (usually new) user... Would it be desirable to have a wiki page listing all these things and how/where one could disable them? When some of us question the changes, we are told "....

There's already a fair amount of UI changes between the version of Freecad used in that video series, that it took some looking around to find the new places for various controls. that is one of the (many) reasons YT are not the best learning tool including my pet hate - YT guys not making it ...
