Re: auto things making life "easier"
It is not about a simple backup and restore... you are explaining it better than I did so far... and the question remains unanswered while we drift off in tangents ;) so let's repeat: It is not about a simple backup and restore. Recently, many new "things" have been added to the Preferenc...

Re: auto things making life "easier"
...try Macro_findConfigFiles Thank you! this one works as described I have tried to make sense of it before (running all three versions Main, Link and Ondsel) and have taken some notes (wiki is not updated on the topic). The issue I am trying to solve here, is somewhat different though ;) I need to...

Re: tko
If making even a simple assembly is too complicated, or even impossible, what's the point? It's no more complicated than the rest of CAD, It is perfectly possible. The point is, that Integrated Assembly workbench is in it's very early stages of development, with no instructions available yet. That'...

Re: Integrated Assembly workbench
With such a simple static model I probably wouldn't complicate life by using assembly workbench?
Using simple placement relative to each other you will have assembly without using anything else?
Why do you think that you need assembly workbench?

Re: Integrated Assembly workbench
...Assembly object should be in Edit state to be interactable ...Then, since it could be just one active object in a file... OK... so if you have half a dozen assemblies and sub-assemblies in the file (majority of them linked to external files with sub-assemblies..) not just one assembly "obje...

Re: Integrated Assembly workbench
...Is it possible to save in the document the object that is currently under edit, so that when the user open again the document the edit mode is automatically started? to my mind this is an undesirable can of worms ;) if you apply it to assembly then why not to part design, sketch etc, etc? it mig...

Re: auto things making life "easier"
You can say that again drmacro  I know nothing about preference packs  Having said so, I still think chrisb that before I use them I need to know what and how something can be changed? My problem is that (for example) - something has changed (and not for the better in my humble opinion...
