Re: Joke question: what design flaw does this part contain?

So we need to know the smallest diameter of the filleting/chamfering tool which defines the smallest radius for the cut-out edges/corners.

If the cout-out corners should stay quite sharp, I would do it like this:

There are tools to chamfer the far edge of a through-hole, if you have enough cash. :geek:

Re: [Sketcher] Arrow heads disappear on hiding the grid

Did you reset the config? Yes, I renamed user.cfg and FreeCAD created a new one. All arrow heads were visible, with or without grid enabled. How did you find it? I started editing the preferences with sketcher open and grid disabled. When I hit apply after switchng from One pass to Backface pass i ...

Re: [Sketcher] Arrow heads disappear on hiding the grid

Found it! :D
A property in the preferences hides the arrow heads.

Preferences - Display - 3D Viev - Transparent objects:

- One pass: Arrow heads all visible
- Bacface pass: Hides arrow heads.

Can you confirm?

Re: dimensioning diameters on flat lines

Somehow my contributions are misunderstood. I DON'T NEED AND DON'T SUPPORT NO (watch this double negative for emphasise) NEW DIMENSIONING TOOL IN SKETCHER! Sketcher has all I need to highlight diameters where I am too lazy to do simple maths. I can devide by 2 or double a value or use express...

Re: dimensioning diameters on flat lines

... The concept is to highlight important diameters. You don't need to use circles on every dimension representing radii or diameters. A simple length dimension does the job, maybe in connection with an expression. As shown in your second picture. But if you know what you are doing you don't need h...

Re: dimensioning diameters on flat lines

I don't like the idea of adding (construction )circles... So if it is added please make a property that i can put them off - They don't need to be added, they are already there! You have to use them manually. - It is a feature you can use right out of the box in any version. - This way half dimensi...

C'mon it's a sketch not a drawing...

If you use arcs, dont't forget to lock their end points or the sketch will be under-constrained. 8-)

[Sketcher] Arrow heads disappear on hiding the grid

I observed a strange behaviour:  When I toggle the sketcher grid off, some arrow heads disappear: ArrowHeads1.png ArrowHeads2.png It looks rather like a bug than a feature. 8-) Is this a known issue? VanishingArrowHeads.FCStd OS: macOS 10.15 Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.21.29997 (G...

Re: dimensioning diameters on flat lines

I still think construction circles are the better solution within the sketcher: ConCirc1.png ConCirc2.png As you can see, some arrow heads disappear if I deaktivate the grid. Is it a known issue or just this version?
