Re: OpenXR/OpenVR (virtual reality support), arch-friendly update

Well, the problem with snap is that it does not work offline (I read somehwere that Canonical wants to make it paid option). I think its a wise idea to keep production systems offline if possible. So for me its not an option, unfortunately. Wtf, I dislike a few things on snap but this just unfounde...

Re: Parametric Center of Rotation

The center of rotation here doesn't have an expression field because it's not saved property, this is only used in the dialog and an equivalent transformation is calculated and that is saved in the placement/attachment offset property. I too wish there was a parametric transformation, for now you ca...

Re: Missing default icons

The OS has no customization, nothing. There is always one set as default. Conclusion -> The icons are missing. wrong conclusion, as you an see when enabling that config, the icons exist in your system. Now, why those icons are still missing???? They've been missing for years already! They are not m...

Re: FreeCAD is interfering with VLC (Video player)

I have tried to build OpenCAD from source so I can investigate the issues further but I'm really struggling to get all the dependencies to behave and at the required versions. I'm guessing you actually meant FreeCAD ;) you could just wait for the next development appimage (if it's not available alr...

And now Youtubers get sponsorships to promote Onshape. When will they learn...... ugh.. onshape it's even worse, it works very nicely, is pretty extensible and it's sometimes great to be able to access it anywhere through a browser, but at the same time, it's completely cloud based, get off the int...

Re: dimensioning diameters on flat lines

FBXL5 has said now multiple times that he is not advocating for making that part of an automatic tool, he's advocating to use this as is right now to achieve the desired diameter constraint.

Re: Attributing FreeCAD in workbench

Like I said I was on the fence regarding addons, re-reading the license makes me agree with your assessment that addons are allowed, it's clear it was not written with this case in mind though. A proprietary version of FreeCAD is absolutely out of the question though. But again it's GPL, not LGPL. T...

Re: UI messed up in latest weekly Appimage

Aaaah got ya, I believe this is a combination of a qt bug and an X11 bug, I read somewhere that for the longest time X11 had terrible dpi support so most applications where made assuming 96dpi would always be set, then X11 fixed their dpi situation but a ton of other things that had made assumptions...
