Re: Topological naming mess vs Realtunder : when can we hope for a solution?

That's why I said capable. A glorified CNC router that has it's hands full cutting chocolate is of little to no use to me as it's not a mill. I usually work in metal and a mill is different than a router. This has nothing to do with my point, sorry if you manhood felt threatened.

Re: Topological naming mess vs Realtunder : when can we hope for a solution?

<snip> - 2D drawings with Techdraw WB: here TNP is a huge issue, workarrounds are very tedious or not reliable. Drawings cumulate the most elements dependancies, hence the most instability. Hobbiysts users don't really need to perform drawings, tanks to CNC machines. OK. <snip> This isn't correct a...

Re: The need for a default assembly workbench

Having a default assembly, the workflow might change from having several bodies in the same file and linked bodies from external files, to fully linked whole external files , the difference is not minor... Not sure if I completely understand what you are getting at, but you can link to whole extern...

Re: Strategy for multipart designs.

How I do it: PartDesign WB to draw individual parts & Techdraw to create shop plans as needed. Fasteners WB to create screws & bolts for links in assemblies (only need one type with element field for multiple copies) Assembly3 to create sub-assemblies via linked individual parts Assembly3 to...

I've only used AS3, so these articles about the other assembly workbenches are very informative. Thanks!

Re: Can someone help me generate a standard mic thread (5/8" x 27)

The "mic thread" has been the standard of the performing industry for decades, at least since the 1940's. But, I don't think it is included in international thread standards like DIN, ISO, etc. It can be found under UNS (Unified Special) in most listings. A UNS designation is any thread t...

Re: Can someone help me generate a standard mic thread (5/8" x 27)

Unfortunately it does not offer 5/8 x 27 since it is, indeed, not a thread defined by a standards organization... The great thing about standards is that there are so many of them. Believe it or not, 5/8" x 27 TPI is a standard microphone thread. Seems to still be used in Europe too. https://w...
