The barrier for entry for testers is self-compiling these branches. In the future, it would be most ideal if we could provide Snap, AppImage, Flatpak, macOS...

The .cfg file isn't ready. The Preference pack saved .cfg apparently isn't sophisticated enough to copy over many of the important user.cfg parameters. So I'm eyeballing them and moving the ones that seem relevant.

JFYI, I checked in with realthunder on where he's at with the patches. Eventually we'll have a service where we can build cross-platform experimental builds per PR (not just Linux Snap for the time being)
